Demo & Chat with Sophie Seymour

We are so excited to be able to bring the fabulous and lovely Sophie Seymour to join us for an afternoon demo and chat with coffee and cake.
Sophie will demo a couple of tricky horses and then share her knowledge and stories of success with you in this informal fun afternoon.
This will be held in the indoor arena at Downlands Equestrian and is priced per person attending.

Showjumping Competition
Date: Saturday 7th March 2025
Location: Dorset Showground
South Wilts Riding Club members are invited to take part in the Dorset Showground Showjumping Unaffiliated Competition.
Members have their own dedicated section, offering a great opportunity to compete against other members, as well as in the general competition.
Classes:
- Heights from 20cm to 115cm
- Suitable for all ages and experience levels
- An ideal outing for those just starting out, as well as more established combination

Winter Dressage League, Event 5
Date: Sunday 8th March 2025
Location: Downlands Equestrian, Indoor Arena (warm up outdoor arena)
Join us for the fifth and final events of our Winter Dressage League Championship events! Riders can collect points based on their placings across the series – the more classes you enter and the higher you place, the more points you gain.
The League runs over five events, with points accumulating at each level. The overall Champion for each level will be crowned at the final on 8th March.

Intro to Liberty & Mindset
Date: Saturday 21st March 2026
Location: Downlands Equestrian, Indoor Arena.
We look forward to welcoming Kim from Idyll Wild Horsemanship. This will be a day of clinics introducing the foundations of liberty work, setting you up on your journey and giving you a taste of what is involved in starting your horse in the magical world of liberty. Intro to experienced catered for.

Combined Training Competition on Grass
Date: Sunday 5th April
Location: Downlands Equestrian
Join us for a Combined Training competition on grass at Downlands Equestrian. This event will be excellent preparation for those about to start the eventing season, as well as for members looking to compete for the first time.
The classes are
- Intro Test 1 (2024) and 60cm jumping
- Prelim Test 1 (2024) and 70cm jumping
- Prelim Test 1 (2024) and 80cm jumping
- Novice Test 1 (2024) and 90cm jumping
- Novice Test 1 (2024) and 100cm jumping
This competition is open to Members and Non Members.

April 18th
Show Prep with Robyn Butler
Date: Saturday 18 April 1pm-3pm
Location: Downlands Equestrian, Main yard.
Join Robyn for an insight into prepping and plaiting for the show season ahead.
This is a person only event (no horses) for a maximum of 15 people.
You will observe and have a chance to practice plaiting and learn some insider tips to give you that extra edge in the show ring.
Robyn and family are showing every weekend in the summer, there is nothing they don't know about prep and turnout for the ring, with 3 greys there is no hiding!

Pinkham Equine Talk
Date: Wednesday 17th June
Location: Downlands Equestrian, Indoor Arena.
Pinkham Vets will hold an informative talk on two subjects, Stangles and Ulcers.
For those of you that attended the talk on Worming and Colic you will appeciate how informative and engaging Pinkham vets are.
This event will include food and drink and will be available to book very soon.
