Combined Training Competition on Grass
Date: Sunday 5th April
Location: Downlands Equestrian
Join us for a Combined Training competition on grass at Downlands Equestrian. This event will be excellent preparation for those about to start the eventing season, as well as for members looking to compete for the first time.
The classes are
- Intro Test 1 (2024) and 60cm jumping
- Prelim Test 1 (2024) and 70cm jumping
- Prelim Test 1 (2024) and 80cm jumping
- Novice Test 1 (2024) and 90cm jumping
- Novice Test 1 (2024) and 100cm jumping
This competition is open to Members and Non Members.

A fantastic opportunity to train with William.
Whether your starting out or an accomplished xc rider, gain experience from the best and have fun at the same time.

Show Prep with Robyn Butler
Date: Saturday 18 April 1pm-3pm
Location: Downlands Equestrian, Main yard.
Join Robyn for an insight into prepping and plaiting for the show season ahead.
This is a person only event (no horses) for a maximum of 15 people.
You will observe and have a chance to practice plaiting and learn some insider tips to give you that extra edge in the show ring.
Robyn and family are showing every weekend in the summer, there is nothing they don't know about prep and turnout for the ring, with 3 greys there is no hiding!

Summer Dressage League, Event 1
Date: Sunday 24th May 2026
Location: Downlands Equestrian, Indoor Arena (warm up outdoor arena)
Join us for the first of the Summer Dressage League Championship events! Riders can collect points based on their placings across the series – the more classes you enter and the higher you place, the more points you gain.
The League runs over three events, with points accumulating at each level. The overall Champion for each level will be crowned at the final on 16th August.

May 30th & 31st
Confidence & Connection Camp
Date: Sarturday 30th & Sunday 31st May
Location: Downlands Equestrian, Indoor Arena
2 x Groups 5 (total of 10 people and horses in all) 90 mins per session am & pm.
In this special camp, you will have the opportunity to better understand yourself, your horse, and the connection you have together. You will work with Horsemanship and Mindset Coach (and clinical hypnotherapist!) Kimberly Dunn who over the course of the weekend, will take you through group talks, and groundwork sessions with your horse. Each session designed to help you and your horse build confidence, connection, and trust in each other.
SCHEDULE:
DAY ONE
GROUP TALK- Introductions, what to expect etc.
SESSION 1 - BODY CONTROL GROUNDWORK BASICS
SESSION 2 - GYMNASTIC POLEWORK (putting the morning skills learned to the test and learning how to further refine lateral work etc)
EVENING TALK ON UNDERSTANDING NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION IN HORSE AND HUMAN
DAY TWO
SESSION 3 - REFINE YESTERDAYS G/W SKILLS + EFFECTIVE CIRCLE WORK & G/W PATTERNS TO DE-ESCATE CHALLENGING SITUATIONS.
SESSION 4 - OBSTACLE COURSE (the chance to apply all new skills and understanding to obstacles and different groundwork challenges with your horse in a calm and confident way!)

Pinkham Equine Talk
Date: Wednesday 17th June
Location: Downlands Equestrian, Indoor Arena.
Pinkham Vets will hold an informative talk on two subjects, Stangles and Ulcers.
For those of you that attended the talk on Worming and Colic you will appeciate how informative and engaging Pinkham vets are.
This event will include food and drink and will be available to book very soon.

SWRC SUMMER HOEDOWN 🤠✨
