Affiliated to the British Horse Society
South Wilts Riding Club was formed in 1985 from the merger of Hindon and Warminster Riding Clubs. Today our members come from a fairly wide area of south and west Wiltshire: from Warminster and Mere to Shaftesbury and Salisbury.
We are a friendly, welcoming club catering for riders of all abilities. Some compete at affiliated level, while others, just starting out on the competitive road, have plenty of opportunity to gain experience at our many club based competitions and activities. Membership is open to all with juniors from the age of 10, and adults from 18 upwards Throughout the year we offer instruction in flatwork, jumping and cross country together with a calendar of competitions.
As part of British Riding Clubs Area 17, which covers Hampshire, Dorset, Isle of Wight and part of Wiltshire, our members are able to compete in all disciplines at area and national level.
It is by no means essential to own a horse (or even ride!) to be a member. A keen interest in the horse is all that is required, and enthusiasm for getting involved in club activities.
